So much has happened since my last blog posting. To say the least - life has happened! It comes with no warning, no excuses and no regard. During this time the scale has tipped drastically both directions leaving me off balance, un-centered and finding myself questioning my most basic abilities I was once so sure of. Now this is something I know NOT to do but could not help myself from feeling this way. I struggled for strength and inspiration which has never been a difficulty for me as I'm usually the one people can turn to for those types of things. I'm usually the optimist-- yeah, Happily and annoyingly so I am that girl; The one with the brave face and can find the light in almost every situation!?!? But this time it was different. It felt like I was struggling for air, unable to do something that has been a basic function to a person of my character. So where was my inner strength and optimism you ask??... Oh, wait... I've spotted her! Headed for the hills and has left me stranded! And with that I finally cracked. Luckily my husband and I took a much needed mental vacation. Just some time away with a little disconnection from the world for a few days to help me to recharge my batteries and clear this clouded mess of a mind that I had.
By no means was this a quick fix for anything but by being able to do the things I love, laughing from the bottom of stomach with the people I find closest, trying new things, seeking new adventures and having no permitted schedule. I was able to clear my head and return back with a spark of fire back in my soul along with a few other great memories that can bring an instant smile to my face (like hiking, epic water tubing wipeouts, cliff diving and singing out to our generations best songs like I was the next American Idol in the backseat of the car).

As an optimist I'd like to leave you all with this.
"In every rainy storm you must either batten down the hatches, fight hard and shelter yourself OR you could just embrace all of these elements and learn to dance in the rain, but don't shut your eyes because you might see a rainbow."
